Funny how this came up on my dash. I was going to write a post about it.
Has anyone else noticed the use of this well-known phrase is commonly used as some form of “insult” to people who do “really bad” things? Think about when people say “you need Jesus!”. It’s mostly when someone has done something really bad. Or if they’re in a really bad situation.I know I’m definitely guilty of doing this.
It’s like, sometimes we don’t realize that no one is good but God. We are made righteous through Christ, but in our natural state we are sinful. All have fallen short of God’s glory and holy standard. Only He has moral perfection. Yet the above saying is mostly used in the context of someone who’s really suffering or a criminal, or whatever.
I just want to stress the fact that we all need Jesus. The poor, the rich, the “good” and the “bad” (according to human standards). It isn’t only those who are stuck in depression and all the bad news. Those who are, supposedly, “enjoying” life and living it to the “fullest” need Christ too.
We all need the Good News, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We all are in desperate need of a Savior.Let’s not forget, we’re all in need.
